Gould Insurance has been a staple in the downtown of Amesbury since Edward Gould opened his doors in 1934. Once Edward's son, Robert "Bud" Gould, returned from service in WWII, he started working side by side with his father. Eventually the 3rd generation moved in to the office and Jay Gould started his career here. Over the years, employees have started their careers and stayed for multiple generations. One of those employees is Matt Sherrill, who started in the office in 1998, after selling Peterson Insurance to the Gould family.
